8. Learning Literacy through Music: Kathy Schumacher, MT-BC, WMTR

In this episode, Kathy and Tricia talk about some things to keep in mind when billing for MT services, as well as Kathy’s experiences using music to help teach literacy.

Kathy Schumacher is a board certified music therapist, a mom to three children, and a lifelong learner with a pile to read in every room. She has worked in private practice the majority of her 23 year career and has developed a specialty area of literacy and math tutoring through music. Kathy loves to work one-on-one with children who are struggling to learn, using music to motivate and prime the brain for success. She also enjoys teaching early childhood music classes and has self-published several books. Kathy lives near Oshkosh, WI where she tends a large garden every summer and enjoys camping with her family—usually in the backyard. In her spare time, Kathy blogs at www.TunefulTeaching.com.
